Experience the thrill of big-game fishing just off the coast of Gloucester with Whistler Fishing Charters’ Shark Fishing Charter. These trips target some of the most powerful and iconic predators in the Atlantic—blue sharks, makos (when legal), and porbeagles—all within striking distance of Cape Ann. It’s a full-day offshore adventure packed with adrenaline and unforgettable moments.
You’re not looking for a scenic cruise or a leisurely day with a bobber. You’re here because you want the kind of saltwater fishing that puts your heart in your throat. The kind where you square off with some of the most powerful predators in the Atlantic. Massachusetts shark fishing delivers that — and Whistler Fishing Charters is how you do it right.
Plenty of charters say they offer shark trips, but not all captains have the know-how, equipment, or experience to put you on the fish — and keep you safe while doing it. Shark fishing is serious business. You want to go with someone who does this for real.
The Whistler is made for offshore big-game fishing — equipped with top-tier gear and technology, this boat is built to handle the challenges of reeling in big deep sea fish while keeping you relaxed and secure
We use a combination of surface slick chumming, drift setups, and live or chunk baits depending on shark behavior and water conditions. This isn’t luck — it’s strategy.
We follow all NOAA shark fishing regulations and use circle hooks to reduce harm. Shark fishing is intense, but your safety and that of the fish comes first.
We fish Gloucester — not just out of it. Captain Kevin knows how tides, water temps, and baitfish affect shark movement right off our coast.
Whether this is your first offshore trip or your tenth, we tailor the experience to your comfort level. We’ll walk you through everything, from how to spot a bite to how to set the hook and manage a fight that could last 30 minutes or more.
Depending on season and conditions, our trips typically encounter:
Blue Sharks – Most common, fun fights, great visuals
Mako Sharks – Fast, aggressive, and prized for sport (currently catch-and-release only)
Thresher Sharks – Known for their tail-whipping fights and acrobatics
Porbeagle Sharks – Very Common in our waters. Can get very large, and put up great fights
