What To Expect

Pre-Trip Prep

Day-Of

Arrival times vary. We highly recommend leaving at the Captain’s time of choice. Leaving at another time can hinder your opportunities for a catch.

Once on the boat, we will go over where the safety gear is located, what to expect for the day and ride times.

  • The boat is located at Cape Ann Marina, 75 Essex Ave, Gloucester, Mass.
  • Try to be 15 minutes before departure time to get on the boat and comfortable.
  • We have ice and cooler space available if needed.
  • We push off and get comfortable for our ride to the grounds!

During Trip

Most of our fishing is done from the anchor on edges. We float live & dead baits while tuna fishing. Bait fishing is common throughout the day.

Haddock fishing is also typically done on anchor, we jig, bait fish with clam, squid, and mackerel.

  • Tuna Charters – Bluefin Tuna (school & giants), Mako, Porbeagle, Blue, and Thresher Sharks. Common bait fish are mackerel, herring, whiting, squid, menhaden.

  • Groundfish Charters – Haddock is our primary target, we also catch pollock, redfish, cod, and the occasional porbeagle shark.

  • We will do as much needed or as little needed to ensure you have a good day. While haddock fishing, we can bait and unhook as much as needed, and all fish cleaning is included in the service!

  • Tuna fishing captain sets lines, when the rod is on a fish we will coach you through the process to give you the best chance at landing your trophy bluefin.

End of Trip

  • Our groundfishing charters return between 2-4 pm. We run open clock charters, we do not rush our trips!

  • Tuna fishing return can vary, successful trips will return earlier with limit. We will give you the most time and best shot to catch, sometimes this means a late return, 6-8 pm.
